1910 Cadillac Model Thirty - Limited Edition - the "Gentleman's Roadster"
The 1910 Cadillac Model Thirty came as standard with a pair of side oil lamps, a horn, tail lamp, a set of basic tools, tire holder and tire repair kit and tire pump, and a pair of acetylene headlights and a gas generator.
Diecast Model CarsThese early diecast model cars were fairly crude by modern standards, being cast from an alloy with high lead content which didn't lend itself to a high degree of detail... The base price for the Cadillac Model Thirty inceased from $1,400 the year before to $1,600 in 1910. The Cadillac Model Thirty was delivered with a new Delco ignition system, supplied by Charles F Kettering's Dayton Engineering Laboratories Co. The Delco ignition worked together with a standard magneto - motorists would have to wait two more years for a true self-starting system. The model Thirty line-up included this sporty two-seat roadster - officially referred to as the "Gentleman's Roadster". Model car kitsModel car kit modelers today take advantage of technology, which includes photo-etched details, adhesive chrome foil for chrome trim, wiring for engines, and aluminum-billeted parts... Other options included a four-passenger demi-tonneau which you could easily convert to a two-seater runabout by detaching and removing the entire rear body. There were also available the all-new Model Thirty Limousine, and a five-passenger touring car - the latter proved to a very popular model. Later in the year, the Cadillac Model Thirty line was extended to include an inside-drive coupe - this handsome car would set you back, at that time, $2,200.
